Position Overview
LBAPS is seeking a qualified and passionate Preschool Lead Teacher for two open classroom positions in our Midwood location — one class for children 18 months and one for children age 2. The ideal candidate brings hands-on teaching experience, a nurturing approach, and a genuine love for early childhood development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily instruction and activities for an assigned preschool classroom (18-month or 2-year-old group)
- Plan and implement age-appropriate, developmentally driven lesson plans
- Create a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
- Monitor and document each child’s developmental progress
- Communicate regularly with families regarding their child’s growth and daily experience
- Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and administration
- Maintain classroom compliance with all licensing and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Prior teaching experience required
- College credits in Early Childhood Education preferred
- Experience working with toddlers or infants a strong plus
- Warm, patient, and developmentally aware teaching style
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage a classroom independently and professionally
